The creation of humankind, part 1, as shown on the wall of the cathedral in San Gimignano, Italy. |
In Psalm 45 the psalmist speaks of his tongue being the pen
of a ready writer. Well, here I am not speaking but writing, so I reverse the
metaphor: may my pen (or my keyboard) be the tongue of a ready speaker.
In 1979 Ronnie Wilson set the verse to music with the lines
My tongue will be the pen of a ready writer
And what the Father gives to me I’ll sing
I only want to be his breath
I only want to glorify the King.
That is my prayer for this site. I too only want to glorify
the King. As I reflect on the Scriptures and on the character and mission of
our triune God, as we study the relationship between Gospel and culture, and
what it means for the Spirit of Truth to lead us into all truth today, I pray
that I will be able to write what the Father gives me, and be true only to him.
This is a comment. Nice blog, Mate. Where's the rest of it?
